Sage 100 release stopped
Sage announced earlier today that they are abandoning the release of Sage 100, the MYSQL version of Sage 50 Accounts.
In a statement Sage announced, “We have taken a long hard look at future market and customer trends, including demands such as SaaS, on demand delivery and how these impact our technology roadmap. As a result, we have taken the decision not to release Sage 100 in its current form, and development has stopped. This is not a decision we have taken lightly. However, we feel it is the right decision, if we are to meet our long term goals.”
Sage 100 had the same feature set as Sage 50 Accounts Professional and was identical in terms of its user interface. However, the MYSQL database enabled high volumes of transactions to be processed without any degradation in the software’s performance.
The current option for Sage 50 Accounts users who are experiencing performance issues because of high transaction volumes is to migrate to Sage 200.
